One of the more unique features we really appreciated seeing is Bosch’s InfoLight system. Whenever the dishwasher is in action, a bright, red light is projected onto the floor. It looks like a laser pointer, only the dot is about the size of a quarter. You can’t miss it, and it’s a handy way of knowing whether it’s time to unload dishes.
You might be thinking, ‘Couldn’t you just listen to find out if it’s still running?” Well, not exactly. One of the great things that makes these dishwashers so wonderful is its quiet operation. At only 44 decibels, there’s a really good chance you might not be able to tell just by listening.
Other fine features include AutoAir. This works by automatically opening the dishwasher door when its cycle is complete. This allows fresh air to circulate throughout the just-washed dishes. This helps dry your dishes quicker.
And as long as your dishwasher remains on, you get 24-hour leak protection with Bosch’s AquaStop. This works by pumping out any leaked water through double-walled hoses. This helps extend the life of your dishwasher by keeping its inner workings dry.
Then there’s the RackMatic feature. This truly is an incredible and rather useful invention. The top rack has a simple lever that you can push in, raising or lowering the rack. This instantly expands the interior to make room for larger dishes.

Frigidaire comes out swinging with an affordable entry that can hang with high-end models. If you’re on a tight budget but in need of a solid performer, Frigidaire’s Gallery may be exactly what you need.
You’re getting a well-built, stainless steel dishwasher that looks sharp. Anyone who has owned anything with stainless steel knows how easily they smudge and attract fingerprints. Frigidaire was proactive in reducing this by using a special coating.
It works well and does a fine job of keeping the stainless steel exterior bright and shiny. You will have a much easier time cleaning your new dishwasher, but this also helps you avoid having to buy expensive cleaning supplies.
We also really liked seeing moveable tines on this budget model. These let you open up the inside so that you can wash much larger dishes, like pots and pans. The Gallery is capable of holding as many as 14 items at any one time.
You’ll be able to knock out your dishwashing chores quickly and effortlessly. We were impressed by how quietly Frigidaire’s Gallery operated. It is insulated quite well, further helping to block out noise.
Being a budget machine, this model does have a couple of hiccups. For one, it struggles getting dried and hardened foods off of dishes. These were pretty extreme cases, though, and your mileage may vary.
All buttons are located directly along the top of the door. There is a single LCD that shows time remaining on each cycle. And there are LED indicator lights that let you know which feature you have selected.
Everything is straightforward and easy to program. There aren’t any convoluted menus to cycle through, so most users won’t have any trouble putting the Gallery to use.
We all want our appliances to last a lifetime. But how can you ever be certain the dishwasher you choose will hold up? That’s one of the noteworthy things about Miele. They run their products through rigorous testing to ensure that they will provide you with years of service.
In fact, the tests they put their dishwashers through are so intense that they are the equivalent of 20 years of normal use. The result is that you’re getting a dishwasher with a 20-year life-span.

With a 16-place capacity, you’re getting plenty of room to handle even the biggest of loads. You’ll effectively cut your dishwashing time in half thanks to a quality cleaning system and large volume build.
With 5 cleaning cycles and lots of hygiene-friendly features, you’ll be able to easily get clean dishes with less hassle. And with shorter washing options, you’ll save time, too.
If you generally have trouble with dishwasher doors, Miele has you covered there, as well. Their ComfortClose door system is a breeze to open. We like this feature because the door will stay put regardless of what position you leave it. Where many doors would drop, Miele’s stays securely in place.
Bosch makes the list again, this time with their 300 series model. This dishwasher operates at a very quiet level, as well. It’s loaded with plenty of other handy features and comes in at a fairly decent price.
The InfoLight makes a return, beaming a bright red dot directly below the unit. This lets you know when the dishwasher is running. RackMatic is also featured in the 300 Series, giving you lots of flexibility in how you load dishes.
You get a total of 9 rack positions, making plenty of room for larger dishware, like pizza pans or pots. You’re also getting a third rack that provides you with 30% more space inside. This rack can be adjusted, as well, opening up the interior even more.
You have access to a total of 5 cleaning cycles. If you have company coming over and need to get dinner ready in a hurry, Bosch’s Speed60 setting will get your dirty dishes clean in about an hour. Even better, this option dries them all, too.
And if you want your dishes really, really dry, there’s even a setting for that. Just choose ‘Extra Dry’ and you won’t have to worry about a single drop of water remaining. To get the full benefit of this feature, you can run the ‘Sanitize’ option. This will enhance drying while killing off any bacteria that might be lurking inside.
At only 44 decibels, operation is quiet and unobtrusive. You and your guests can carry on normal conversation without the interruption of a noisy dishwasher. This is especially useful if you have little ones napping throughout the day whom you don’t want being disturbed.
With its stainless steel finish inside and out, you’re getting a beautiful addition to your kitchen. It gets dishes plenty clean in quick order while allowing for lots of interior loading space. The 300 Series comes at a reasonable price, to boot.
Tucked directly below the handle is the user interface. It is minimized for easy selection and management, and the loading system is a cinch to use. While it may not have as many features as the 500 Series models, there is still plenty to work with.
Bosch has created a very user-friendly dishwasher that nearly anyone can use. We had a little bit of trouble with installation, but after buying a few extra parts, it went in just fine.
Out of all of Bosch’s dishwasher lines, the 800 Series is the most-purchased. There’s a good reason for this, as it’s a stunning piece of craftsmanship. It’s chock-full of features that serve to make up its hefty price tag.
The aesthetics of the 800 Series go well in any kitchen setting. It looks sharp and attractive thanks to its stainless steel design. A pocket handle helps to take up much less space when compared to traditional bar-style handles.
This model comes equipped with 6 washing cycles and options. If you’re in a hurry, Speed60 makes an appearance again. This setting gets your load of dishes washed and dried in about an hour.
Bosch also makes use of its Sensor Wash cycle. This uses just the needed amount of water and time to get your dishes cleaned. And Precision Wash will keep scanning the load throughout its cycle to ensure it is getting the proper cleaning treatment.
The incredibly handy InfoLight comes installed with the Series 800, as well. This feature projects a large, red dot onto the floor right under the dishwasher’s door to keep you apprised of ongoing wash cycles. This is a truly ingenious idea that works well and is relied upon more than you many think.
And this is especially true in this model. Why? Because it is hands-down the quietest of all dishwashers we tested. Most models have a decibel rating of anywhere between 44 and 50. Older models are, of course, much louder.
Bosch pulled out all the stops in their research and development and delivered a dishwasher with a rating of 39 to 40 decibels! If you’re in need of some peace and quiet, this is definitely the unit for you. It’s so low you can easily forget that it’s running.
With so many features at your fingertips, beginners might get overwhelmed or intimidated. But once you learn its ropes, operation is really quite simple. Selections are made with touch-sensitive buttons on the inside of the door.
A single LCD screen keeps you alerted to time remaining and other information. The settings work wonderfully and, best of all, quietly.

We really like the top rack in this dishwasher. It sports moveable tines that open up even more loading space. And if you need a bit more room underneath for larger dishware, this rack can be moved to help you out. Combined with the 15-place capacity, you should have more than enough room.
You get a total of 5 wash cycles with 6 options. There is even a one-hour cycle for those times when you need dishes right away. And if you have other matters to attend to, you can delay wash cycles for up to 8 hours.
In terms of running noise, this unit keeps things pretty quiet at only 47 decibels. The only potential deal-breaker we found in this model is that it lacks a third rack.
It may be simplistic in its design, but it is easy to operate and looks nice, too. The user interface is perfect for first-time owners and won’t overwhelm with a lot of bells and whistles. If you’re on the fence about getting a dishwasher, this Whirlpool won’t disappoint.
If you have a big family or entertain a lot of guests pretty often, this is definitely the dishwasher for you. It boasts a huge interior along with a 15-place capacity. You can likely load up all of your dirty dishes and clean them in one wash cycle.
Samsung included a third rack in this model, helping to accommodate more dishes if needed. There’s even an additional rack for silverware and the like. All of your dishes fit nicely inside to ensure thorough cleaning throughout.
Speaking of cleaning, this model does a tremendous job of eliminating even the most stubborn caked-on foods. To help with this, Samsung equipped this dishwasher with a unique Zone Booster.
This allows you to shoot jets of water directly on dishes. That dried out lasagna from three nights ago doesn’t stand a chance.
We really appreciated that Samsung took the time to address common complaints like smudgy stainless steel. They applied a special coating that helps reduce this issue, leaving your shiny new appliance bright and beautiful.
This attractive unit is equipped with some very intuitive controls. But don’t let that deter you if you’re new to operating a dishwasher. They work very well and are just as easy to learn. And for all you techies out there, you can sync the WaterWall to Wi-Fi for even more versatility.
This monster of an appliance is fit for a king. LG delivers a dishwasher that is feature-packed and ready to serve.
You get a total of 9 wash cycles with 8 options. The QuadWash does an excellent job of getting your dishes clean. This is done by 4 wash arms that work to spray jets of water over every square-inch inside.
This two-rack behemoth is lacking the much-desired third rack. But LG makes up for it by including moveable tines on both racks. This helps to free up some space to allow for more storage.
As great as the QuadWash is, we had to take it down a few places due to its clunky interface. When it’s working like it’s supposed to, this unit is great. But many times you will find yourself fighting to get it to function the way you want.
Controls are made via touch-sensitive buttons on the face of the unit. Operation is quiet enough, but many will struggle with the interface.
Have you ever dreamed of controlling your dishwasher from your smartphone? Neither have we. But LG thinks you need to be able to do this, and so here it is. To be honest, once you try it, this feature is quite handy to have around.
It’s one of those things you didn’t realize you needed until you tried it. It’s especially nice to have when you’re in the middle of movie night and don’t want to get up to mess with the dishwasher. Or if you’re away from the house running hectic errands.
Washing is pretty adequate, although you can certainly find models that do it much better. There is plenty to work with, as you get 9 wash cycles with 8 options. It’s also nicely-sized with a 15-place capacity.
But really, the main draw here is the connectivity. Is it a gimmick? Sure, but if it’s the kind of gimmick that suits your busy lifestyle, this thing is right up your alley.
If you can use a smartphone, you can operate this dishwasher. It should be noted that performance isn’t all that great, with many users complaining of its longevity. Since we only tested the unit, we can’t speak to that. Either way, you should proceed with caution.
Amana brings you a bare-bones unit at an affordable price. It’s certainly not going to win any awards for innovation, but if you need a dishwasher on the cheap, this is a good choice.
It’s pretty straightforward in its operation, with simplistic yet effective controls. It sports a 12-place capacity interior that will handle small- to medium-sized loads.
It’s very lightweight for a dishwasher, allowing most people to install it by themselves. It’s made mostly of plastic, so it’s not the most durable of appliances.
But again, for a budget entry, there’s bound to be some cost-cutting measures made. It does a pretty fine job of cleaning dishes, though. And really, isn’t that the most important part?
