We like the height of this unit, as it leaves lots of space for a chair to comfortably slide under. The build-quality is thick and sturdy. We didn’t experience any annoying wobbling, even when we had the desk loaded down with gear.
The Dakota comes with sensible directions for assembly. We were able to have this desk up and ready in less than an hour. Almost every modern desk is made of particleboard, so it’s hard to avoid. Unfortunately, the Dakota is no different.
Our only concern is this stuff won’t last as long as it should. When you buy a desk, it should last for years. At least the metal framing is durable.
The Walker Edison Furniture Company takes a different approach and moves away from particleboard. The Workstation sports a glass desktop with steel framing. Although it’s thin, we assume it will last a good while.
It’s very modern in design. We like that it takes up very little space when fully assembled. Walker Edison used tempered safety glass for the desktop. And the framing is solid powder-coated steel.
The L-shaped construction fits right into any corner. And there’s plenty of room to comfortably accommodate a chair.
The desktop safely houses two monitors, although you’ll want to place your tower on the floor. We like that there’s a built-in slide-out keyboard shelf. This serves to free up space. We just wish there were some kind of shelving for games and accessories.
This is a great desk if you use two monitors simultaneously. Assembly was quick and painless. We had it put together in about 30 minutes.
Now we’re talking. The Atlantic Gaming Desk might look simplistic in its design, but there’s more than meets the eye with this one. It’s loaded with convenience that will make any gamer happy.
